Mpumalanga is a region of spectacular and scenic beauty coupled with an abundance of wildlife. Bordered by Mozambique and Swaziland to the east and Gauteng to the west, it is situated mainly on the high plateau grasslands of the Middleveld.

The capital of Mpumalanga is Mbombela (Nelspruit) and is the administrative and business hub of the Lowveld.
