Mashishing (previously Lydenburg)
Mashishing previously named Lydenburg, is situated in the Highlands Meander region of Mpumalanga, South Africa.
Geography and History
On 30 June 2006 Lydenburg was renamed to Mashishing by the South African Minister of Arts and Culter, Pallo Jordan.
This town seems to be at the centre of the South African fly-fishing industry.

Besides going to see the Lydenburg Museum which holds many ancient artefacts relevant to this town, Lydenburg offers the visitor a range of activities, including cinemas, hiking trails, game drives and the Sudwala Caves, some of the oldest known caves in the world.
